In the Book of Revelation 1:3, it states, “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” I found that many people are scared and intimidated to read this book of the Bible. They often find it cryptic and confusing and therefore don’t read it or give up. I implore you to make a goal and read the book soon by following this FREE BIBLE PLAN.
A little background on how the plan came to be. As I read through the Bible recently, the Lord laid on my heart the Bible Plans to create for my subscribers. The Book of Revelations came to the top. Fast Forward, I was able to bring on interns and I am thrilled that one of my interns, Yaidee Fox, said YES to the challenge of creating a Bible Plan on the Book of Revelation as her first assignment, I think she did amazing!
Please read her insights and blog post below and make sure to download the Bible Plan at the bottom of the post. The goal of the Bible Plan is not to be a devotional or a theological plan, but the goal is to have you read the verses and have the Holy Spirit reveal what you need to know today. May you be greatly blessed by reading this important book.
The Book of Revelation is such a rich and deep Book of the Bible. It can seem intimidating since it contains a heavy message throughout the verses and is full of testimonies to everything John saw in his heavenly visions. In each day of this Bible Plan, I share one or more key verses that spoke to me, and I pray over them to touch your heart with His message as you read them.
Day 1 covers Chapters 1 through 3 with key verses where John visits seven churches and shares how some have chosen to abandon God. John reminds us that we were loved long before Jesus paid the price for us with His blood. He washed us from our sins in His blood. The song from Hillsong Worship, "Worthy is the Lamb," reminds me of these chapters as we hear their song speak over the price He paid for our sins, has forgiven us for them, and always loves us.
My favorite message from Revelation was in Chapter 3, verse 20, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." I found this a great reminder because, in all we do, He is always with us and never leaves us, but He never forces Himself on us. He wants us to invite Him into our lives. He gives us control by knocking on our door, with only the doorknob on our side to allow Him in, because God is always a gentleman.
Chapters 4-5 on Day 2 reflect on the eternal afterlife in Heaven and Hell. Chapters 6-8 on Day 3 remind us that through it all, Salvation is only through our Lord who sits on the throne and with the Lamb. Chapters 8-11 on Day 4 remind us that God's timing is always perfect, and when we hear the trumpet, the conclusion of everything will have arrived. Chapters 12-16 on Day 5 describe the war Satan waged against God, and although these are fearful events, we still hear messages of hope and rejoicing. Chapters 17 - 20 on Day 6 share the stories of ungodly spiritual systems and the reminder of worshiping God. Chapters 21 and 22 on Day 7 are the beautiful story of seeing Heaven.
As you read over these Scriptures, I ask you to:
Open your heart and mind to His words and invite Him in as you listen to His voice and soak in His messages. I pray that God touches your heart and that you always open the door to Him.
